Mast modification: top 5' of mast cut and lowered down inside mast and welded in place. This cut is above the fractional jib mast head fitting. Mainsail is untouched and set at first reef point. Owner contacted Hunter about this modification and although they wouldn't approve the change they did not say that it should not be done. He was informed that the lower third of this engineered mast is high tensile alum. and above the mid length weld is standard alum. and can be worked. It is recommended that a buyer consider this modification and research any change back to original height.
